I am Bertena , and I believe your spiritual path should help you hear yourself more clearly—not make you feel as though you are failing another set of rules.
My work brings together education, spiritual coaching, Divine Feminine wisdom, intuitive development, Reiki and energy work, tarot and oracle reading, meditation, somatic awareness, and accessible yoga. I especially enjoy supporting women who are entering a new season of life, reconnecting with their intuition, exploring their spiritual gifts, or searching for practices that honor their bodies and real lives.
My Teaching Experience
Before dedicating myself fully to spiritual education, I spent more than 30 years in higher education. I served as an Associate Professor and Senior Academic Advisor at Western Kentucky University, teaching history, sociology, criminology, and related social sciences.
My experience also includes academic advising, curriculum development, adult learning, online education, student mentoring, degree planning, career exploration, and helping traditional and returning students move through important educational and life transitions.
That background continues to shape everything I teach. I bring structure, compassion, accessibility, and decades of experience guiding adults through learning, growth, and personal transformation.

I began yoga in my forties while navigating health concerns and living in a larger body. After initially being told that yoga teacher training might not be right for me, I completed the training and created the kind of inclusive yoga school I once needed.
My yoga and meditation education includes:
I am the founder and lead trainer of Rose Temple Yoga School, where yoga is taught as an eight-limbed spiritual practice—not a performance or pursuit of the perfect pose. Students are encouraged to practice from a chair, bed, mat, or wherever their body feels supported.
My Yoga Lineage
My foundational yoga lineage is Thirumoolar’s Ashtanga Therapeutic Yoga within the Siddhar tradition, passed through Dr. Asana Andiappan and taught to me by Mary Irby of White Crow Yoga.
This therapeutic lineage emphasizes the whole person, the eight limbs of yoga, accessibility, spiritual development, breath, meditation, and adapting the practice to the individual.
Reiki and Energy-Work Experience
I am a Reiki Master Teacher in the Usui System of Natural Healing and teach Reiki Levels 1, 2, and 3, including Advanced and Master Teacher training.
My energy-work experience also includes Angel Reiki, Animal Reiki, Fairy Reiki, chakra work, crystal grids, distant energy work, meditation, and intuitive spiritual practices. I use the word “Reiki” because it is familiar to many people, but I also teach that energy work can take many forms.
My energy-work and card-reading lineage is deeply intuitive. Students learn foundational practices while developing their own relationship with energy, their soul, and their guides. Books can support learning, but your spiritual wisdom should not depend entirely upon a guidebook or rigid rules.

As a Rose and Water Priestess, I teach a Divine Feminine spiritual path rooted in intuition, embodiment, sacred reflection, energy awareness, ritual, and personal spiritual autonomy.
I am the founder of The Ancient Arts of the Priestess Academy, where students can explore goddess wisdom, tarot, oracle cards, tea leaf reading, spirit-guide communication, energy work, ritual, meditation, and intuitive development.
My role is not to tell you what you must believe or make your decisions for you. My role is to listen, reflect, teach, ask meaningful questions, and help you recognize the wisdom already unfolding within you.
